Our trial attorneys, Timothy Nies and Christian Van Riper, take their jobs seriously.

Timothy, a military veteran, having served as an Airborne Ranger with the elite 75th Ranger Regiment, is a former lead casualty trial attorney for Marshall, Dennehey, Warner Coleman & Goggin, the largest insurance defense law firm in the U.S., where he litigated and tried complex civil litigation cases on behalf of large insurance companies and Fortune 500 companies. Prior to that, Timothy worked for one of the most well-known divorce attorneys in South Florida.

Christian is a former Prosecutor in the 19th Judicial Circuit, and a former Investigator with the Department of Children and Families (DCF).  Very few attorneys have the experience Christian has when it comes to legal issues of minors. As an investigator for DCF, Christian investigated allegations of child abuse and child neglect. Christian and Timothy try each and every case as a close-knit, effective, well-prepared and efficient trial team. 

Florida has one of the highest divorce rates in the United States. Divorce is not easy given the emotional, financial and legal uncertainties that surround the divorce process. Family law is very different than most other fields of law. Yes, family and divorce law involve laws and legal procedures, but at the heart of it, family law is about "families".  We know that what we do may affect clients, especially young children, for the rest of their lives. Being a former DCF investigator, Christian fights hard for the welfare of our clients, especially when small children are involved.

At the same time, our attorneys understand that divorce and family law matters generate a huge amount of stress, especially financial stress. Our goal is to quickly, through negotiation, mediation or through well-planned litigation, facilitate the divorce process, as economically and smoothly as possible. We do not wish to have the reputation of delaying a divorce proceeding for our own financial gain. It is critical that our reputation of courtroom experience, efficiency, trust and hard work remains intact.
